Large room, high quality bedding, and air conditioning, great washroom and shower facility, and good service. Harbour city, the largest shopping mall, Jiu Long park, Victoria harbour, Peninsula hotel etc are all within 5-10 minutes' walk. And lots of restaurant choices too. Opposite is the A21 airport bus, costing 33 hk dollars and 16.5 for adults and seniors, compared to 90 for the airport express train.

It's all the convenience.

And about immigrations, during the bus ride, we stop once for both of Chinese and Hong Kong immigrations checks. With valid visa via Hong Kong to a third country, and possily the flight tickets, a transit of 7 days is granted. ( no need of  applying Hong Kong permit, which should have cost my parents up to 400 yuan each.)

Tomorrow I'll be off vacationing in Hong Kong, Philippine, and Malaysia for a total of two weeks from 8 till 22 Dec. Since me, and my parents are doing it a backpackers' style, it's possibly not like a vacation, but a journey, which is  not too easy.

Our whole trip will be in three episodes actually and equally 5 days for each country and area, to be more exact, from 9-14 in Philippine, 8, and 15-18 in Hong Kong, and last leg being 18-22 in Malaysia.

After our first trip together in Jan, 2008, maybe my parents in 60s now understand a little more about this style of travel. Hope they will enjoy their trip this time better, with their-sometimes- impatient-and-easy-to-lose-control son.

When discussing with A. about my transfer at Manila airport between an international flight to a domestic, 1:40 hours does sound short, though. She quoted a sentence by a manager from her sister's company on a trip to Japan, obviously when they had similar issue. That is, 'run up if you can.' Funny, but I am not so sure: if and how  my senior parents may run up fast, or, how crowded the airport there will be, or if the first flight is on time ? 

Different from her, I prefer to prepare as well as detailedly beforehand, especially when traveling with others. Where to stay, how to transport, otherwise the lostness makes feeling so desperate on the way in a totally foreign country.

This last week I've been planning and preparing materials as follows:

visa to philippine, 

transportation tickets, Hangzhou-Shenzhen by flight, Shenzhen-Hong Kong by bus, Hong kong-Manila-Cebu, Cebu-Tag by boat, Tag-Manila-Hong Kong by flight; Hong Kong- Penang by flight, Kuala lumper to Hangzhou by flight.

Hotel/hostel: Xintiandi hotel at Jianshazui district Hong Kong, appletree in Cebu, Golden palm resort at Alona beach, Old penang hotel at Penang.

My parents always wonder how fast this world has changed. Staying at home but preparing almost everything now. But, even though, virtual world is not a real world, or why should you go traveling?

Today after the lunch he had a crazy 5 minutes' show, all with a red flight pillow about creating different looks.

A Tv drama titled 'Guo Ju' ( snail house) catches lots of attention and debate among Chinese audience, esp the white collars, like the characters in it still surviving hard  in cities and challenging all costs and pressure to own an apartment in such a context when houses prices are way too high. 

For me, owing a small snail shell while sacrificing other life enjoyments, like vacationing, is out of question. Next month, I am traveling with my parents to Hong Kong, and Philippine, even Malaysia.

So I am busy planning tickets, hotels and program. Even though I've travelled a lot, still I feel a little nervous, esp when the horror news appears a lot on the headlines of all media. Hope evening will be stable soon.
